SCOTLAND'S biggest bunny has found a new home.
Humphrey, a French Lop eared buck has been given away by his heartbroken owner Colin Dunigan after he developed an allergy to his prized pet.
Devastated Colin, 62, gave up two stone Humphrey after breaking out in a rash and had appealed for a caring and loving home for the furball.
And his prayers were answered this Easter by the Smith family from Errol, Perthshire, who fell in love with Humphrey after meeting him.
But the Smiths have been warned they will need a well-stocked larder to care for tubby Humphrey - who likes to munch down entire loafs of bread for dinner.
Humphrey was taken to meet his new owners and tearful Colin was so moved by the family's devotion - he let them keep him that day.
Fiona, 39, and their daughters Emma, 12, and Lauren ,7, said: "We already have two rabbits and a cat but when we saw Humphrey and heard about the appeal we had to have him.
"We got in touch with Colin and he drove up to see us with Humphrey.
"He seemed right at home with us straight away and Colin could see that we would give him the sort of love and attention he needs.
"It was very moving watching Colin saying his good-byes and I'm sure there were a couple of tears shed.
"I sent Colin a picture of Humphrey sprawled out in the back garden a couple of days later and he said it was great to see he was so at home."
Colin, 62, of Cumbernauld, said: "I have to say losing Humph was almost like a death in the family.
"I still leave the lounge door open at night expecting him to bound in for his daily dose of television.
"Children still come to the door asking to see him and I think I might have to put a sign up to say Humphrey has gone to a lovely new home in Perthshire.
"But I am very pleased he has found such a lovely family and Fiona has promised I can go and visit and to keep me updated on his antics."
