CELEBRITY chef Gordon Ramsay has revealed he is buying a house in LA to be closer to his four children.
The fiery-tempered cook has spent most of this year in America filming the second series of Hell's Kitchen USA.
The dad-of-four is due to open a restaurant in West Hollywood in April and his latest show will follow his search for a new chef to work alongside him.
The busy schedule means Ramsay will be away from wife Tana and children Megan, Jack, Holly and Matilda, for months.
The Michelin star chef admits that he finds it hard being thousands of miles away from them.
And he revealed that he is now house hunting in Los Angeles where he will be near his friends David and Victoria Beckham.
He said: "It is hard spending time abroad when my family is in London.
"We are looking for a house in LA to make it a little bit more comfortable for the children when they come over.
"The weather is great.
"I love it there.
"It's about having the best of both world's.
"London, New York and Paris is not that bad."
The 41-year-old has a string of restaurants around the world including ones in London, New York and Tokyo.
His New York restaurant received mixed reviews by US critics on its opening last year but Ramsay was still determined to open a new eatery in Hollywood.
The Scottish chef is close friends with the Beckhams and there was rumours that the trio were looking into opening a restaurant in LA.
But both camps denied this with Ramsay announcing he was planning to open his own place.
And he has told how he enjoys the American way of life despite the knocks he suffered at the beginning.
He added: "I still manage to keep a low profile in America which is great.
"New York was a tough opening and the critics were out before I even opened the door.
"I tried to create a little bit of magic.
"With a new restaurant you have got to establish a following.
"It's all about the food, interior and making sure you have fun at the same time.
"It's very hard to stick your name to a restaurant but I'm in it for the long term."
Ramsay is only one of three UK chefs whose restaurant is rated three Michelin stars.
He shot to fame for his foul-mouthed tirades in shows such as Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Hell's Kitchen and The F-Word.
In 2005 he was introduced to American audiences in the US version of Hell's Kitchen.
